Overview

Every Chester’s piece passes through five stages - Selection of wood, Framing, Foaming, Upholstery and Quality check.

All Chester's production takes place within our dedicated workshops in Peenya Bangalore. Here, traditional European craftsmanship meets Indian artistry, creating furniture that honors both heritage and innovation.

Many of our carpenters have been with us for decades, carrying forward the skills first brought to India by our original team trained in Europe. Each frame is built with a mix of solid steam beech and Canadian pine, chosen for strength and balance.

We source from Central and Western Europe and process the hides in our Tamil Nadu tanneries, where skilled tanners combine advanced methods with environmentally safe practices. Our signature Shadow Range are hand-dyed with vegetable tan, a process refined over 30 years to create depth of colour and texture.

Deep buttoning is both a decorative signature and a mark of structural integrity. Perfected over decades, each button is hand-secured with a waxed high-strength yarn that runs through the frame, ensuring lasting tension and durability.

Our upholstery combines German-engineered machinery with hand-finishing refined over generations.

Each seam is lock-stitched at 8–10 stitches per inch to balance strength with flexibility, while stress points are reinforced with hand-sewn French seams for lasting durability and comfort.
