DeSIGN ORIGINS

FRENCH SAVOIR-FAIRE

Club chairs were originally referred to as the fauteuil confortable, or 'comfortable armchair' in France. From the early twentieth-century, club chairs started to be made where our Madame chair was one of the earliest models – with clean lines and a sharp squareness that was typical of the overall design movement of the twenties.
